ania rek is a Polish singer currently living in Berlin who graduated from the Academy of Music in Gdansk(Poland). Jazz and electronic music are among her favourite styles. Music was always an important part of her life. She started to play the piano at the age of eight. A few years later her adventure with singing has begun through first classes of singing and competitions for vocalists. She was twice a laureate of the festival Talenty Malopolski, and a few other vocal contests. Last year she was invited to take a part in the international festival FINSTERWALDE SAENGER in Germany. In 2016 she was awarded in the Festival International Meeting of Jazz Vocalists in Zamosc. She strives to combine different styles singing in clubs with DJs or with a band. Her inspiration comes from Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Billie Holiday and Kurt Elling. A few years ago she started to compose her own songs. Nowadays she is looking more into finding her own individual style discovering different colours in music. Improvisation is a very important part of her singing. She speaks fluently English, German and Polish. She is also an architect.
